Statistics: Russia’s inflation speeds up to 0.08% in Oct 18–Mon

MOSCOW, Oct 26 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation sped up to 0.08% in the week from October 18 through Monday from 0.02% in the previous week, and reached 10.64% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.

The price for fruit and vegetables grew by 1.5% on average. The prices for tomatoes rose by 5.6%, for cucumbers by 5.4%, for bananas by 3.2%, for beetroot by 1.5%, and for potatoes by 0.1%. At the same time, the prices for apples fell by 1.9%, for onions by 1%, and for carrots and cabbage by 0.2%.

The prices for buckwheat fell by 0.87%, for sugar by 0.60%, for flour and millet by 0.4%, for sunflower oil by 0.29%, and for bologna sausage by 0.28%. But prices for eggs rose by 1.85% and for poultry by 0.15%.

The gasoline prices remained flat, while the diesel fuel prices added 0.2%.
